The risen Christ invites us to be good stewards of all the gifts we receive. The word steward is rooted in the Greek word oikonomos, which means "manager." In other words, as students of Jesus we are managers of the resources that God has entrusted us.
God is the creator and owner of everything, and God has made us stewards of our gifts and blessings. Moreover, God wants our whole lives: time, talent, and financial treasures. We give out of that generous flow and realize that giving of our financial gifts is part of our daily worship.
