The ELCA Hukilau needs YOUR help!

VOLUNTEERS WANTED:

The planning is underway for an incredible Worship service in honor of the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation.  We will gather on Saturday, October 14 at St. Andrews Cathedral in Honolulu.  The worship begins at 3:00 pm and we have an amazing preacher coming from the Mainland who will help bring us the Word; there will be a joint choir; and we have invited Bishops and other church leaders from throughout Hawaii to join us on that day.  For this celebration to truly be a gift to our community, we are asking members of our Hukilau Congregations to step forward to help in various ways. We need:

  • Worship Greeters and Ushers: Please be at the Cathedral by 2:00 pm.
  • Bakers:  Following the worship service, we will be serving catered, heavy pupus.  We would also like to provide cookies, cupcakes, brownies or other tasty homemade treats. (Please note that Store bought is also OK!)  If you can, please bring a dozen of your finest offering to the Cathedral by 2:00 pm.
  • Fellowship Hosts:  We are also looking for a few folks willing to come and set up the food or stay after the fellowship time to clean up.

If you can help us be good Hosts to those we have invited to this Reformation Celebration, please contact Pastor Ruth Peterson, Revruthp@gmail.com or 808-236-7814.
