Peace and Power
Pastor's thoughts about this coming week
We are half way through October. Life moves on. People grow up and memories are created. This is what we are doing with our Sunday School. We call it G.I.F.T. -- Generations in Faith Together. We just finished learning about the Adam & Eve Story and how God has created us in God's own very image as male and female. In our "Special Guest Chair," we introduced a lovely woman, Ruth, who is joining Calvary by the Sea. She told us of the delights of being a woman, a girl, and female. Another new member, Kurt, also sat in the same special chair and told us why he enjoyed being a male, a guy and a man in God's image. It was wonderful watching the faces of our children and teens as they listened to and made new friends with these new people.
Our teens are also serving as role models in this G.I.F.T. program. Our children are literally looking up to them. Our teens take what they are learning in FINK NITE confirmation events and can help teach and share it with others.
Are you involved in G.I.F.T.? I hope so. Each week we celebrate another bible story and look for ways to live it out as an "Ohana" here. We have devotional booklets for you to use at home also. They each last two weeks and give you an opportunity to think some more about the weekly bible story, share your "highs & lows" with your loved ones, and to share a prayer for each other as you reflect on what God is saying to you and yours.
Come and share the G.I.F.T.
