Calvary Campus Construction update July 27, 2018

Sanctuary repairs scheduled to be complete Aug 17, Preschool will open on schedule using Hale ALoha,

First the great news..  Vacation Bible School was successfully held in the Hale Aloha building last week. With the exception of the final steps in the power upgrade construction is almost complete. We look forward to start transitioning school activities back into the building the first week of August.

We got permission this week to begin the Sanctuary work.  The contractor will be on campus next week and we hope to make a very big dent in the remaining work for the Sanctuary. The scheduled completion date is August 17.

Sactuary floor plan

The situation in Ohana Lani is more complicated due to several upgrades required to get up to modern code. We received approval  and closed up the floor where the new plumbing will be located.  We currently are working to finalize the cost for all of the repairs and hope to have that by August 10th.  Once the Department of Permitting approves the plans, we will come back to you with the impact to the approved budget.

The preschool situation still remains in flux.  Our intent is to use the previous toddler room for a primary class, use the multi-purpose room in Hale Aloha as a primary classroom; it can hold approximately 22 students and to use the ANC Office area for the toddler room.  As contingency, we are working with Holy Nativity Church to continue using their space for a backup classroom.  We are confident that this will come together so that the school will open on time and be able to support the full contingent of students.

Watch for an announcement of a Congregation meeting in the near future to go over the details of the work and the budget impact.
