The rain has come, the counselors have to adjust!More Pictures in the photo gallary
Wednesday at Wapo!
Today it is cold! Or, as Midwesterners would say, “Sure is ‘brisk’ this mornin’.” But that didn’t stop our intrepid girls from going horseback riding early this morning. It was a good thing they left early as the sunny morning quickly turned cloudy and the rain began to fall.
We were scheduled to have a “Beach Bash” down on the beach, but the rain and temperature but a stop to that, that meant the board games were brought out and the crafts supplies were moved into the main cafeteria and the fun began.
We also need to know that the weather can change rather drastically in a very short amount of time in the Midwest, that means even if it rains, some people just keep on playing. So, when it looked like it would rain and sprinkle on and off all afternoon, a group of counselors and kids just headed down to the open field to play mud soccer or any field game in the mud. In the end, it didn’t really rain that much and the games went on until around 4:20 in the afternoon when the thunderstorms moved in. Then everyone had to move indoors
This evening they will be making forts in their cabins and then the forts will be judged according to creativity. There will be campfire held up in the Crossfire Chapel and then canteen. After canteen they will have worship and then they will go back to their cabins for evening devotions and fun. Even if it is cold and rainy, I am confident they will have tons of high volume fun. I also expect it will also be a night for many campers to catch up on some sleep.
You might have heard about the flooding that has occurred in South western Wisconsin and south eastern Minnesota, while our hearts go out to all those who have suffered from those tragedies, we have not been affected at all. We keep all the people who have lost loved ones and property in our hearts and prayers.
