We made it to WAPO!

Our group has begun one week of Bible Camp!

YEAH! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Everything worked well and we are here. All the connections, accept our initial departure from Honolulu, went as smooth as clockwork. We had a little delay in getting seats for the girls seats in Honolulu, but we eventually got on the plane in good seats and off we went.

Our Wapo contact also picked us up and we were off to A and W for root-beer, hotdogs and cheese-curds.

We are all staying in a nice place called "Lower Anderson," an air-conditioned dormitory style cabin. I gave the group a quick tour of the camp; as we walked Stevie suddenly struck a pointing pose screaming "what is that!?" It was the first time she had ever seen a chipmunk... I love bringing people from Hawaii to see the beauty of the midwest. We were immediately into to "Wapo-life," and we were playing four square or nine square. We had dinner with all the counselors consisting of homemade pizza. We were tired but excited. Being the oldest camper in the group, I wanted to go to sleep first... the kids began a jet-lagged influenced sleepover in the lounge, they were all wrapped up in their sleeping bags watching a Ratatouille (spelling?), until they saw the counselors outside playing nine-square, and then the kids changed back into their clothes after being in their pajamas, to join the counselors in playing nine-square. Needless to say, I went to bed... the next thing I knew, it was about midnight or later, and I came out to check the kids and they had moved the short sofas into a circle in the lounge and they were all scrunched up in their sleeping bags sound asleep.

Soon I noticed that it was raining and a gentle thunderstorm was approaching. There was lightning and thunder, and the kids seemed oblivious and peaceful.

I woke up to a myriad of birds singing, and there is sun, the air is very crisp, and the coffee tastes particularly good.

I am off to wake the kids up for breakfast. I will also met the Wapo counselors that will be coming to Oahu and I will be meeting them today at 10:30. I will send a photo of them to help with PR for camp.

The kids have been so happy and excited to be here, thank you so much for your effort.

Pastor Tim
