Pastor Timothy J. Mason - Senior Pastor - [Account] - calvarybythesea.org@pastortim Tim Mason graduated from Moorhead State University in Minnesota with a Bachelor or Arts in Biology. He then graduated from Luther Northwestern Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota, earning his Master of Divinity Degree. During seminary he served as an intern at St. Paul's International Lutheran Church in Tokyo, Japan from 1989 to 1990.
As a pastor and missionary, Tim has worked in Japan since 1991. As Senior Pastor of Kakegawa Kikugawa Lutheran Church in rural Shizuoka, Japan, working in a totally Japanese setting, Tim organized worship & music, education, counseling, administration, social ministries and totally rebuilt the sanctuary and parsonage. He also worked with the troubled youth at the Denmark Farm and the Special Senior Care Center in Fukuroi, Japan. Tim also served at Meito Christ International Lutheran Church in Nagoya, Japan. Tim has been a board member on the Japan Evangelical Lutheran Association.
Tim is married to wife Yuriko. They have two sons, Andrew and Kai. Their hobbies include sailing, scuba diving, music, skiing and kite flying. |

Tom Poole, Director of Worship & the Arts and director of the Calvary Choir is a native of Northeast Georgia, and a graduate of the University of Georgia (B. Mus., French Horn Performance), the Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC (M.Div.; Th.M. Church History/Historical Theology), and the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY (DMA, French Horn, Musicology, Contemporary Theology).
He moved to Hawai'i in the fall of 1997, and has been at Calvary by the Sea since February 2007. Prior to coming to Calvary Tom was Minister of Music and Organist at the United Church of Christ-Judd Street in Honolulu. On the mainland Tom served in the ministry of music in Southern Baptist, United Methodist, and Roman Catholic churches in Georgia, North Carolina, Kentucky, Indiana, and Tennessee. He also taught music history in the School of Music at the University of Louisville.

Linda Cluney - Finance Secretary - [Account] - calvarybythesea.org@linda I am the Business and Finance Secretary here at Calvary by the Sea where I've worked for the past 24 years. I handle the finances for both the church and our Montessori preschool. I began as a volunteer for the Building Fund Drive when the new sanctuary was in the planning stage and "followed a rainbow" several years later which led to a "real job". I like to keep track of things so maintaining the membership records suits me too. I also like being around people, helping, listening, and caring so this special place is perfect for me, and what a joy it is to work with the sounds of children in the background!

Shelby Yuu - Parish Administrator - calvarybythesea.org@parishadministrator I am a local girl born and raised here in hawaii. I attended Maryknoll Grade School, graduated from Sacred Hearts Academy and have a degree in Culinary Arts from the Culinary Institute of the Pacific. I bring to Calvary over 10 years of experience from the University of Hawaii as a Budget Secretary dealing with Federal Grant budgets, Hawaii State processing procedures and payroll processing. I started at Calvary as the Parish Assistant for 3 years and am grateful to now continue working here as the Parish Administrator. I love Calvary, our staff, our Pastor, our preschool, Angel Network and the wonderful spirit/graciousness of the members. I am truly joyful that I have a job that allows me to serve the Lord. I am married and have a 2 year old son who keeps me very busy. I love cooking, baking and singing. |
