The Rainforest Adventure is a Vacation Bible School program aimed at children ages 3 to 12, or grades Preschool to 6th grade. Teen and adult volunteers are welcome too! Get ready for Bible Stories, Crafts, Science, Songs, Games, and Fun!!

Before registering your child for VBS, please fill out the Parental Consent Form and submit it to the church office.

You can register your child for the VBS program either by clicking on the following links to download the form and submit in paper format, or you can register online. Deadline for Registration is June 27. Registration limited, so don't delay!

Donations
We are looking for donations to help support our VBS program. If you have any of these items that you would like to donate, please bring them to the church office during regular hours beginning June 23, 2008. Or items can be donated to the church on Sundays between services (8:45-10:00AM) starting June 22, 2008.
Rainforest or Jungle print fabrics
Cardboard tubes at least 18 inches long
Rainforest Animals – toys or pictures
Monkey
Butterfly
Toucan
Macaw
Frog
Bugs
Snakes
Any others you may have!!
Brown paper bags – we will open them up, then twist them into vines
Rope and twine – any length and width (for more vines)
Green or brown paint
Green file folders (used)
Trees and plants – real, silk or plastic – even if they are falling apart or dying!
(but please do not bring to church until Saturday, July 12)
Newspaper logs – any width and length. Secure with tape or rubber bands.

FAQ
When? Monday - Friday evenings, July 14 – 18. Family supper at 5, program 5:30 – 7:45
Where? CBTS, supper in Hale Aloha, worship and storytelling 'under the canopy' by the sanctuary, preschool in the classroom behind the office, crafts on the lanai, games on the lawn, others TBD.
Who? PreSchool (age 3-4), K through 6th grade, Nursery will be available for infants and toddlers of VBS staff members. Parents and older siblings are welcome to participate with the small groups or to volunteer with one of the activity leaders.
Cost? It is estimated that the cost of the program will be at least $20 per child. We will accept a freewill offering to assist in covering this cost. This will include nightly dinner, a t-shirt, a CD of music and all program and craft supplies.
Do I need to be there every night? The program will be most meaningful to children who can attend all 5 sessions. Adult help will be appreciated whenever it is available – if you can only come on certain nights, let us know and we can work out job-sharing arrangements.
What Can I Provide? The preschool staff will be putting together a plan for the dinners, and food donations will be appreciated. The kid-friendly main courses will be supplemented with food that originated in the rainforest.
Craft supplies? We are currently collecting newspaper logs, cardboard tubes (at least 18 inches long), rope, and 18 oz cardboard canisters (like oatmeal boxes) A list of other items needed are listed in the Donations section above.
Decorations? The weekend before VBS begins we would appreciate any flowers, palm cuttings, coconut, vines or plants that can be donated to complete the decoration of the venue. Our themed animals are butterfly, toucan, frog, macaw and monkey. Other jungle toy animals would also be appreciated. If you want anything back, be sure it is labeled!
Allergies? Any child with food allergies must be sure to include the information on the registration form. All efforts will be made to identify potential problems beforehand and provide alternatives.
Deadline? COB June 27. This is necessary due to the time it takes to receive program materials from the mainland. Registration is limited, so don’t delay!!
